Horror films are the celebration of violent, bloody deaths. They are then judged by the quantity and quality of the deaths in the film. Bodybags Count is a website devoted to rating horrors films based on these criteria.

Bodybags: The Bodybag Score represents the quantity of deaths by a villain or in a film. This includes any deaths seen or not seen in a film regardless of whether they were caused directly or indirectly by the villain. |
Gore Score: The Gore Score represents the quality of deaths by a villain or in a film. This is rated on a five point scale based on the amount of gore seen on screen during the death or aftermath of a discovered body. The rating system is as follows:
- Character killed off screen with no body seen on screen.
(i.e. only discussion of or reaction to death)
- Character is killed or body seen on screen without any blood.
(i.e. strangulation, explosion, drowning)
- Character is killed or body seen on screen with some blood.
(i.e. stabbing, throat slit)
- Character is killed or body seen on screen with significant amount of blood or somewhat creative death.
(i.e. severed limbs, spurting wound, splatter across wall)
- Character is killed or body seen on screen with massive amount of blood or very creative death.
(i.e. blood soaked witness or room, multiple severed limbs with squirting blood, slow motion emphasis on gore)
